Sustainability at ASM 2024

The RANZCR NZ ASM 2024 is dedicated to employing sustainable methods to minimise our environmental footprint and ensure the event is conducted equitably, economically and ethically. We've selected conference, accommodation, and social venues conveniently located in central Queenstown to reduce the need for transportation. Group transfers have been arranged for the conference dinner, situated beyond the central Queenstown area, to promote sustainability and reduce individual transportation emissions. We're actively advocating for a zero or near-zero waste policy at our exhibition and throughout the event by prioritising digital presence over physical materials whenever feasible.

We embrace delegate diversity including, but not limited to, gender, religious, cultural, physical and social factors and are embracing ways to enhance a delegate’s ability to participate successfully in the conference.

We invite you to join us by considering the following.

What can you do?

  • Your registration includes catering and venue resources, make the most of the face-to-face time and help keep waste to a minimum.
  • Recycle at the stations available throughout the venue and take notice of waste reduction measures at your accommodation.
  • Consider bringing your own keep-cup for beverages or use the venue china cups. Takeaway cups won’t be available.
  • Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated. Water refill stations are conveniently located at the venue.
  • Shop, eat locally and support the Queenstown community.
  • Be mindful of your travel choices:
    • Think about offsetting your carbon footprint when booking your flights.
    • Consider conference accommodation options during the registration process.
    • Opt for ridesharing, staying centrally, taking the bus, walking, using e-scooters, or biking to the venue if your accommodation is located further away.
  • Prioritise digital over printing whenever possible.
  • If you cannot attend in person or are mindful of your travel carbon footprint, opt for the on-demand option.
