Dr Iain Ward
Iain Ward is a radiation oncologist at the Canterbury Regional Cancer and Haematology Service and at St George’s Cancer Care Centre in Christchurch. After graduating from the University of Otago, he trained in medical oncology at Christchurch Hospital and in radiation oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, followed by clinical fellowships at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Canada in gastrointestinal cancer, head and neck cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. He is the New Zealand lead for the AGITG MASTERPLAN trial of stereotactic radiotherapy for pancreatic cancer. He is also co-chair of RANZCR’s Asia-Pacific Radiation Oncology Special Interest Group (APROSIG) and has an interest in initiatives to promote quality in radiation oncology.
